About
22 reasons to rise.
22R is a movement for Veterans, service members, National Guard, Reserve, military families, caregivers, first responders, and the people who stand with them. We build reasons to rise — 22 of them — and we come back to them when the day gets heavy.
22 is our rallying cry. It stands for the ones we've lost, and for the ones still here. We treat it as a symbol — 22 lights, 22 reasons, 22 minutes. We do not cite unverified statistics. Where we cite numbers, we point to the Department of Veterans Affairs' current National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report.
What 22R is
- A community. Peer support and shared practice.
- A daily check-in. Two minutes. It matters.
- 22 lights. Reasons you write down and can come back to.
- 22-minute missions. One walk. One text. One next step.
- A path to resources — from crisis lines to VA benefits to trusted partners.
What 22R is not
- A crisis service.
- A medical, psychiatric, or psychological provider.
- An emergency response system.
- A replacement for professional mental health care.
